PANORA, Iowa (AP) - The Iowa Natural Resources Department says a man has been shot by another turkey hunter in Guthrie County.

The shooting occurred around 7:30 a.m. Saturday about 10 miles west of Panora.

The department says 51-year-old Richard Groom, of Guthrie Center, was struck in his upper torso by a shot from someone with whom he was hunting. Groom was flown to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines for treatment.

The department is investigating the incident.
