SPANISH FORK, Utah (AP) - A 31-year-old man was killed when he crashed his dirt bike into a pickup truck near Utah Lake.

The Provo Daily Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1F7FS4L) that the sheriff’s office says the man was not wearing a helmet while riding on the dirt road Saturday afternoon.

The sheriff’s office said the truck’s driver was attempting to turn right when the bicyclist tried to pass him on the right.

The dirt bike hit the truck and sent the man flying into a tree. The sheriff’s office said he was left in extremely critical condition with several head injuries.

He was taken by ambulance to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, where he was pronounced dead.

His name has not yet been released.
