IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (AP) - Police are trying to identify human remains discovered by a hiker in western New York.
Sgt. Mark Bean of Irondequoit (uh-RAHN’-duh-kwoyt) Police says the body was found around 8 a.m. Sunday in a wooded gully beside Kings Highway in the town. Bean says the body had been there for some time.
The gender and approximate age haven’t been determined. The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office called in an anthropologist to help with the analysis of the scene.
Investigators will also look through missing persons reports.
