NEENAH, Wis. (AP) - A Kohl’s store, a Walmart and other businesses in Neenah were evacuated because of two suspicious suitcases.

The suitcases were left in a parking lot between Kohl’s and Walmart. A witness told police she saw two men who were acting strangely, get in a vehicle and speed away. Then she saw the suitcases. Police evacuated surrounding businesses about 5 p.m. Sunday.

Post-Crescent Media (https://post.cr/1FZSQO9 ) says the Brown-Outagamie County Bomb Squad was called in to investigate. The people who left the suitcases called police after seeing media reports about the evacuations. The suitcases contained typewriters. The evacuation order was lifted about 8:30 p.m.
