ROSS, Texas (AP) - A man has been arrested in Central Texas after claiming high-grade marijuana found in his car was tea.
The Waco Tribune-Herald reports that McLennan County Sheriff’s Office deputies pulled over 27-year-old Guanyu Chen about 9 p.m. Sunday.
Upon searching the vehicle, a deputy found four vacuum-sealed bags and $1,400 in cash.
Sheriff Parnell McNamara says Chen told officials that the bags contained tea.
A sheriff’s K9 indicated that the bags contained drugs.
Chen has been charged with possession of marijuana and is being held in McLennan County Jail.
A $10,000 bond has been set.
It was not immediately clear whether Chen had a lawyer.
