PEARL RIVER, La. (AP) - A Mississippi teenager has died after state troopers say he got out of a vehicle on a Louisiana highway and was struck by a truck.

NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune (https://bit.ly/1yJOHAM) reports 19-year-old Andrew Flores of Picayune, Mississippi, was killed Saturday morning on Interstate 59 near Pearl River in southern Louisiana. Police say Levi Craddock of Lacombe was giving Flores a ride to Picayune when Flores began to interfere with the driver. The driver pulled over and Flores got out of the car and walked into oncoming traffic. Flores was struck by a pickup driven by 26-year-old Danny Winkles.

Police say they think Flores was impaired. Winkles voluntarily submitted to a breath test but no alcohol was detected.
