TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Hundreds gathered in northwest Ohio over the weekend to remember a college student who was gunned down while walking home from a party near the University of Kentucky.
The Blade in Toledo reports (https://bit.ly/1E0RcPi ) 400 people listened as those who knew Jonathan Krueger shared stories of the 22-year-old’s life. Mourners met around a bonfire Saturday at Maumee (maw-MEE’) Valley Country Day School, where the Perrysburg native graduated in 2012.
Former youth basketball coach Nathaniel Towns said Krueger was a hard worker who didn’t want anything handed to him. He called the violence senseless.
The University of Kentucky communications student was shot and killed a block from the Lexington campus Friday morning in what police believe was a random robbery gone awry.
Two Lexington men have been arrested in his killing.
