TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Bond has been set at $1 million for a man suspected of fatally shooting his ex-wife’s new boyfriend during a dispute in Tempe.

Tempe police say 39-year-old Julio Cesar Galindo-Hernandez is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder.

He was taken into custody late Saturday night after he turned himself in to police officers.

Galindo-Hernandez didn’t have an attorney at his initial court appearance Monday. He now faces an April 29 preliminary hearing.

Police say Galindo-Hernandez went to an apartment early Friday to confront his ex-wife and her new boyfriend.

He is accused of shooting Ruben Aguliera Bustillos as the victim was sitting in his vehicle in an apartment parking lot.

Authorities say Bustillos was shot in the head and declared dead at the scene by Tempe Fire Department paramedics.
