CEDAR GROVE, W.Va. (AP) - A rock slide has closed a section of U.S. 60 near Cedar Grove in Kanawha County.

Media outlets report that the slide occurred Monday morning, less than an hour after the road reopened following an earlier slide.

Division of Highways spokesman Brent Walker tells The Charleston Gazette (https://bit.ly/1JZDld0 ) the road was expected to remain closed on Monday.

Walker says the hillside is unstable and saturated with water.

He says he believes the slides are due to an access road cut by American Electric Power above the affected area.

Officials with AEP and the DOH were expected to meet on Monday afternoon to discuss the slide.
