BURLINGTON CITY, N.J. (AP) - Authorities are trying to determine whether a crime was committed when someone left a statue of a person holding a gun near a gas station in central New Jersey.

The Times of Trenton (https://bit.ly/1JZO6fg ) reports the three-foot statue was left in the bushes outside the Burlington City business on Friday. Police say the statue shows a person who could be interpreted as wearing Middle Eastern garb holding an assault rifle.

Police were alerted by a resident who saw a video of the statue on Facebook. The video has received about 15,000 views.

Burlington City police spoke with the station’s owner and employees on Saturday, but none of them knew about the statue, which couldn’t be seen from the gas pumps area.
