WASILLA, Alaska (AP) - Alaska State Troopers say a 57-year-old man has died in a single vehicle crash in Wasilla after he drove into oncoming traffic.

Troopers say Carl McDearman was wearing his seatbelt when the crash occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday near mile 10 of Knik Goose Bay Road.

Troopers say they were notified that McDearman’s Ford Ranger was southbound while speeding, driving into oncoming traffic and passing in no-passing areas.

Troopers found the Ranger near mile 12 after it veered off the road and overturned several times. McDearman’s body was recovered from the scene.
