VICTORVILLE, Calif. (AP) - A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of accidentally shooting to death a 16-year-old girl in Southern California.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department says deputies were called to a home in Victorville Sunday night and found 16-year-old Dakota Washington with a gunshot wound to her chest.

She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Authorities say a boy who was at the home accidentally shot her. He was interviewed and Monday he was booked into juvenile hall for investigation of involuntary manslaughter.

Details of the shooting haven’t been released.
