CAMAS, Wash. (AP) - The Clark County Sheriff’s office says a Camas man is in serious condition after he was reportedly shot by his girlfriend in a Glenwood neighborhood.

Officials received reports at 5:30 p.m. Sunday of a woman shooting her boyfriend in the hand with a shotgun.

When police arrived, they found the victim in the yard, bleeding and unresponsive. He was taken to the hospital but the woman was still in the house.

When she did not respond to police calls, they called in a SWAT team. Officials shut down the street and evacuated residents or told them to stay in their homes.

Police say Shari L. Brown of Vancouver surrendered after 30 minutes and was taken into custody. The 47-year-old victim’s name was not immediately released.
