BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A pair of traffic stops along Interstate 10 in Louisiana has led to three drug arrests. State troopers say a search yielded about 45 pounds of drugs.
Nola.com/The Times-Picayune (https://bit.ly/1GeHBqn ) reports officers pulled over 50-year-old Carl Green of Yemassee, South Carolina, near Port Allen for a traffic violation Sunday. After searching his car, a state police K-9 found 27 pounds of cocaine in a hidden compartment.
Another state police K-9 found 18 pounds of marijuana early Monday in a car driven by 34-year-old Terence Jones Jr. of New Orleans, with 19-year-old Jasmine Rhea of Algiers in the passenger side. Troopers also found about $5,500 in cash.
All three were taken to West Baton Rouge Parish Jail. It is unclear if any of the defendants have a lawyer.
