RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Andros Foods North America plans a $73 million expansion of its food processing operation in Shenandoah County.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe said Tuesday that the three-year project will create 160 jobs.

McAuliffe says in a news release that the project includes adding equipment to increase the operation’s apple processing capacity for pouch products and to process additional fruits. The company also plans to add production and warehouse space.

McAluiffe approved a $400,000 grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund to assist Shenandoah County with the project. He also approved a $600,000 performance-based grant from the Virginia Investment Partnership program.

The Governor’s Agriculture and Forestry Industries Development Fund will provide a $100,000 grant to the company.
