MILES CITY, Mont. (AP) - Custer County officials have released the name of a 67-year-old Miles City man who died in a weekend fire that destroyed two houses.

Sheriff Tony Harbaugh says Clark Daniel Malvin died Sunday afternoon of smoke inhalation.

Deputy fire inspector Lt. Justin Russell says the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it appeared to start outside one of the houses. Heat from the fire caught the neighboring residence on fire.

Both houses are considered a total loss, with damages estimated at $200,000.
