CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Federal officials are taking public comments on a proposed gas processing plant near LaBarge in western Wyoming.
The QEP Resources, Inc., plant would process gas from 10 nearby gas wells. The project also would involve building around 8 miles of pipeline to carry methane and 8 miles of pipeline to carry carbon dioxide.
Six underground injection wells would be drilled: Four to inject carbon dioxide, one to inject produced water and one to inject sour gas underground.
The facilities would be built on a mix of state, federal and private land.
The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is taking public comments until May 20. Comments may be emailed to: blm_wy_dry_piney_deep_project@blm.gov
An open house on the proposal is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Monday at the public library in Big Piney.
