DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - A Davenport man has pleaded guilty to charges he broke into a woman’s apartment, held her at gunpoint, forced her to withdraw cash from an ATM and sexually abused her three times in September.

The Quad-City Times reports (https://bit.ly/1GgbA19 ) the trial of 20-year-old Gary Marshall came to an abrupt end Tuesday after he entered his plea deal to second-degree sexual abuse, second-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary and first-degree robbery.

The agreement drops one count each of first-degree kidnapping and attempted first-degree burglary.

Marshall’s trial began Monday with jury selection and opening statements from prosecutors, who allege he broke into two women’s homes, stealing from both and “violating one of them.” His defense attorney had deferred his opening statement until the prosecution rested.

A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for May 28.
