KINGWOOD, W.Va. (AP) - The Preston County Democratic Executive Committee has nominated three candidates to replace Delegate Larry A. Williams.

The 71-year-old Williams announced last week that he’s leaving the Legislature to take a job with the state Department of Agriculture.

WBOY-TV (https://bit.ly/1DbqWOo ) reports that the committee selected the candidates on Monday evening. They are Steven Shaffer of Tunnelton, Seldon Pratt of Masontown, and Scott Dwett of Kingwood.

The committee will submit the candidates’ names to Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, who will appoint Williams’ replacement.
