LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - A former accounts receivable/payable clerk for the Lafayette Association for Retarded Citizens is accused of stealing approximately $102,000 from the non-profit group.

The Advertiser reports (https://bit.ly/1IBxjyc) the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office issued an audit report Monday stating $102,000 in cash that was in the clerk’s custody was not deposited into the agency’s bank account.

In February, an arrest warrant was issued for 39-year-old Naomi Gray, of Youngsville, for a theft.

Investigators say Gray allegedly duplicated multiple deposits to hide the fact that cash was not being deposited.

The Lafayette Parish District Attorney’s office continues to investigate the theft.

LARC serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in an eight-parish region of Southwest Louisiana.
