KILLEEN, Texas (AP) - Police say gunfire at a Central Texas apartment complex has left two people dead and three wounded.

Killeen police spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez (meer-uh-MOHN’-tez) says the shootings happened before dawn Tuesday at the Village West Apartments.

She had no immediate information on whether police are seeking any suspects or a possible motive for the shootings.

Miramontez says two women were killed, while two men and another woman were wounded. The survivors were transported to hospitals. Miramontez had no details on their conditions.

Miramontez says investigators are trying to determine whether any of the five people who were shot lived at the complex. Their names were not immediately released. Miramontez also had no information on whether the individuals are related or otherwise know each other.

Further details weren’t immediately available.
