EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - The Justice Department is recognizing a Michigan State University faculty member for her research and advocacy work for rape victims.

Rebecca Campbell is being presented with the “Vision 21 Research Award” on Tuesday during a National Crime Victims’ Rights Service Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C.

The psychology professor recently served as an independent evaluator for a federally funded study of why about 10,000 sexual assault kits went untested in Detroit.
