LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) - A central Pennsylvania man accused of beating a woman and setting her on fire has been sentenced to four to eight years in prison in a plea deal.

LNP newspapers (https://bit.ly/1Hr2Io8 ) reports that 46-year-old Donald Hackman Jr. of Lititz pleaded guilty Monday in Lancaster County to aggravated assault.

Authorities said the woman and her young son had been staying with the former medic and state constable for about a month.

In September, authorities said, he punched her in the face and stomach, beat her with a belt, doused her midsection with lighter fluid and set her on fire.

She was treated for first- and second-degree burns at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Hackman was ordered to spend five years on probation and have no contact with the victim and her family.
