SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) - Sheridan banker Mark Kinner has been appointed to fill the state House seat left vacant by the death of Rep. John Patton.

Sheridan County commissioners voted 5-0 Monday to appoint the Republican.

The Sheridan Press reports (https://bit.ly/1HQzLTk ) that Kinner is an officer with First Interstate Bank of Sheridan.

Kinner was one of three candidates nominated by local Republicans for the House District 29 seat.

Patton died April 5. His term runs through 2016.
