FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a fire in a small bus used to transport children to a day care center in Monmouth County was electrical.

The bus caught fire after it had just dropped children off at Home Sweet Home Daycare and Preschool in Freehold Township on Monday.

Police Officer Daniel Rehberg tells the Asbury Park Press (https://on.app.com/1E2aXWH ) the bus driver said the horn wouldn’t stop after she parked. She went inside to call the owner and returned to find the bus on fire.

Rehberg says the fire ignited the sign of a nearby business and firefighters had to keep the flames from spreading along the roof.
