ATLANTA (AP) - President Barack Obama is offering Georgia agencies federal assistance to help pay for cleanup costs associated with a winter storm in mid-February.

White House officials said in a statement Monday that Obama is offering federal funding to state and local agencies along with certain nonprofit groups that helped respond to the winter storm in 15 counties including Hall, Barrow and Forsyth.

Officials say more federal resources may be available if additional damage assessments show a need for more help in the area.
