EDINBURGH, Ind. (AP) - Indiana State Police have cited a Megabus driver for speeding after an accident with a semitrailer on Interstate 65.

State Police also said Tuesday that the bus showed no signs of mechanical problems. Nineteen of the bus’ 63 passengers were injured in the April 13 crash near the central Indiana town of Edinburgh.

It was the fourth Megabus crash in Indiana since October. The report also found the bus had the incorrect U.S. Department of Transportation number.

The driver, 50-year-old Kimberly Lane, of Dolton, Illinois, was cited for “speed too fast for conditions.” State Police say Megabus willingly turned over maintenance logs and other data.

Megabus spokesman Sean Hughes says the carrier evaluates all incidents to find ways to improve and that safety is its top priority.
