PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Firefighters in Portland have rescued a man who found himself hanging 40 feet up in a tree he had been trimming after he injured himself with a chain saw.
Portland Fire and Rescue Lt. Damon Simmons said the man told the fire crew his chain saw kicked back Tuesday, striking his right arm. He was left hanging as he tried to apply direct pressure to the injury.
Firefighters reached the man by ladder and stabilized his injury, then lowered him to the ground.
He was taken to a hospital.
