DALLAS (AP) - A giant Sulcata tortoise found wandering the streets of Dallas this weekend has been returned to his owner.

The Dallas Morning News (https://bit.ly/1zFcBs5 ) reports the 27-year-old runaway turtle, named Gordo by his rescuers, was spotted Sunday night roaming the city. It’s unclear how he was able to escape his owner, whom he was safely returned to early Monday.

Sulcata tortoises are the third-largest type of tortoise. They can weigh up to 150 pounds and live for more than 50 years.
