MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders is stepping up his criticism of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade pact.

Sanders on Monday joined labor activists and other protesters at a demonstration outside the office of the U.S. trade representative in Washington.

Sanders has been outspoken in his opposition to Congress approving fast-track legislation that could speed ratification of the agreement.

He says he’s opposed past trade deals that were advertised as promoting job growth, only to later see them generate job losses across the country.
