ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Alaska State Troopers say a search has been launched for a 33-year-old Nevada man who went missing after his canoe overturned in an Alaska lake.
Troopers say Matt Asturi of Las Vegas was the only known person on the canoe when it flipped over Monday evening in Trail Lake, about 75 miles north of Anchorage. Troopers say Asturi was not wearing a safety vest at the time.
Searchers from various entities, including troopers, searched the lake and shore Monday evening but found no sign of Asturi before the search was called off for the night.
The search resumed Tuesday.
