MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Department of Labor says the state’s unemployment rate fell one-tenth of a percentage point in March to 3.8 percent.

Labor officials say March was the sixth straight month without an increase in the jobless rate.

The national rate was 5.5 percent for March, unchanged from the month before.

Vermont Labor Commissioner Annie Noonan says the state’s economy was bolstered by a successful 2014-2015 ski season.

Around the state, the unemployment rate ranged from 2.9 percent in the Burlington and South Burlington area to 7.6 percent in Derby.
