RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Student robotics teams from across Virginia are heading to a worldwide competition this week.
The nonprofit science, technology and engineering teaching group VirginiaFIRST says 21 teams from the state will compete in St. Louis from Wednesday through Saturday.
Overall, more than 17,000 students in grades kindergarten through 12 will participate.
VirginiaFIRST says most Virginia teams will travel in charter buses and conducted fundraisers to help defray the cost of the trips.
