GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - Authorities in Weld County have recovered roughly $300,000 worth of drill bits stolen from an oil and gas site.

The Denver Post reports (https://dpo.st/1HQc1i9 ) that the Weld County Sherriff’s Office recovered six of seven drill bits reported stolen last week and three more bits that had not been reported missing.

Cpl. Sean Standridge said in a statement that the drill bits were dumped at an oil battery site in central Weld County. The office investigated the site after receiving tips on their whereabouts.

Seven drill bits were reportedly stolen from a site near Milliken operated by Canada-based Ensign Energy Services Inc. The bits weigh about 300 pounds each.
