WALKER, La. (AP) - A man has been charged with raping and robbing a woman inside a laundromat.

Nola.com/The Times-Picayune (https://bit.ly/1yLp5mH ) reports Walker police arrested 40-year-old Lionel Myles on suspicion of pulling a knife on the woman Sunday night and forcing her into a bathroom before raping her.

In a press release, Capt. John Sharp says the woman told police she was doing laundry when Myles asked her for spare change beforehand.

Police watched surveillance video from the laundromat to identify Myles. Residents pointed police to a nearby abandoned building where Myles was known to stay.

Myles was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center. It is unclear if he has a lawyer.

Police did not say if there were any employees at the laundromat who saw the alleged attack or called police.
