MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A Martinsburg man has been arraigned on federal charges that he delivered heroin which caused a woman’s death.
The case of 62-year-old Michael Jose Roberts was moved from Berkeley County Circuit Court to federal court. He was arraigned Monday on heroin distribution-related charges.
U.S. Attorney William Ihlenfeld says Roberts is accused of selling heroin to a 37-year-old woman who died last May in Berkeley County.
Roberts is scheduled to go on trial May 26.
The charges carry a maximum penalty of life imprisonment upon conviction.
