FREMONT, Ohio (AP) - A veteran reporter and editor who worked with The Blade in Toledo has been named editor of The News-Messenger in Fremont and the Port Clinton News-Herald.
The News-Messenger (https://ohne.ws/1aLSNNh ) reports David Yonke will take over for Jill Nevels-Haun. She is leaving the company after eight years in Fremont.
The 60-year-old Yonke worked for 30 years at The Blade as a reporter and editor. He most recently was editor of a nonsectarian religion and faith website.
Gannett Co. owns the Fremont and Port Clinton newspapers. The News-Messenger has a daily circulation of about 5,000 and the News-Herald has 2,000.
