COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio State University is still looking for its new band director after two finalists dropped out of the search.

Northeast Ohio Media Group reports (https://bit.ly/1Ert4Yl ) Auburn University’s associate director of bands withdrew from the search Tuesday, and the marching band director at the University of Illinois took himself out of the running April 13.

The national search was announced in August after the firing of director Jonathan Waters and was supposed to be completed by February. But officials say the band will remain under an interim leadership team as they continue to look for a director.

Waters was fired after an internal investigation concluded he knew about but failed to stop, a “sexualized culture” within the band.

He filed suit against the university and also applied for the director position.
