4-year-old boy drowns in backyard pool

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 4-year-old boy drowned in a Las Vegas backyard pool Tuesday evening.

The Las Vegas Sun reports (https://bit.ly/1K4znzR) a family member found the toddler in the pool. He was unconscious when medical personnel arrived, and was pronounced dead at Centennial Hills Hospital.

Abuse and neglect detectives were at the scene, which Lt. Bruce Miyama said is standard in child death investigations.
