HOUSTON (AP) - A convicted felon from Houston has been charged with illegally having guns and posting photos online showing him brandishing the weapons.

Frederick Ramon Robinson faced a detention hearing Wednesday in federal court in Houston.

Prosecutors say the 45-year-old Robinson was arrested Tuesday on charges of unlawfully possessing a firearm.

Robinson, who served prison time in the 1990s for drug convictions, is banned from having guns. The complaint says Robinson posted messages on Twitter and other social media sites showing him with firearms. He also allegedly made threatening remarks about shooting people and using fire bombs against his foes.

Prosecutors didn’t immediately have information on an attorney for Robinson, who’s requested a court-appointed lawyer.
