SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A Utah Highway Patrol lieutenant in charge of the DUI unit is being investigated and has been placed on leave.

KSL-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1DAIPW2 ) that Lt. Brad Horne is now on paid administrative leave after a private citizen filed a complaint against the officer.

The Ogden Police Department has been appointed to conduct an independent investigation. It’s unclear when it will be completed.

Authorities won’t say what the nature of the investigation is, but said it is not related to a DUI offense or procedure. It is also not related to a January internal audit that reorganized the DUI unit which is led by Horne.

The lieutenant’s attorney said Horne is cooperating with the investigation and expects to be cleared from the unspecified allegation.
