FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) - A man accused of breaking into three homes has been arrested by U.S. Marshals.

The Times Daily (https://bit.ly/1zKaVh5 ) reports 28-year-old Benjamin Lynn Bruce was arrested Monday for first-degree burglary and second-degree theft of property. Authorities say Bruce broke into two Florence homes and one in Lauderdale County, taking a gun from that residence on April 5.

Sheriff investigator Bret Martin says Bruce became a suspect after someone overheard him talking on the telephone about the Lauderdale County burglary. Authorities discovered he was hiding out in the Crump, Tennessee, area and turned arrest warrants over to U.S. Marshals.

Officials say Bruce was taken into custody without incident at his residence.

Bruce is out on property bond and it is unclear if he has a lawyer.
