ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a man is being treated at a Rochester hospital after he was hit by a freight train near the city’s Amtrak station.

Officials say they received a call around 4:40 a.m. Wednesday that a person had been hit by an eastbound train. Officers who arrived on the scene found the injured man just west of the downtown train station.

He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.

The tracks were closed for about two hours, but reopened around 7 a.m.

The accident is being investigated.
