PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say a municipal parking authority worker was killed when he was hit by a tow truck backing up in a south Philadelphia lot.

Officials say the Philadelphia Parking Authority employee was pinned under the truck after he was struck shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday.

The 60-year-old worker was rushed to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead almost two hours later.

The victim’s name wasn’t immediately released. The accident remains under investigation.
