FALLING WATERS, W.Va. (AP) - Poor road conditions have prompted mail service to be suspended along a Berkeley County development.

Media outlets report a local postmaster wrote to about three dozen property owners in Falling Waters that mail delivery will end April 30 due to potholes along privately owned dirt roads in the Sportsman’s Paradise development.

Postmaster Tara Silver says in the letter she’s concerned about the safety of mail carriers.

Silver suggests the property owners along Broad Lane relocate their mailboxes to another location or rent a mailbox at the post office.

Resident Bobbi Hart says many in the area are disabled or living on a fixed income, so renting a post office box isn’t an option.
