MARIONVILLE, Mo. (AP) - Police say a southwest Missouri man was killed when his car drove into the path of a freight train.
The Aurora-Marionville Police Department said in a news release that 56-year-old Paul Michael Jay drove around crossing arms that had dropped early Wednesday in Marionville.
The Springfield News-Leader (https://sgfnow.co/1aSnNeo ) reports that the train horn sounded before the crash. The release says the vehicle was pushed over 1,000 feet down the tracks before the train could be stopped.
