TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - Police in Tacoma say an elderly man has been pulled from a submerged car at the Tacoma Narrows Marina.

KOMO-TV reports (https://is.gd/Eneyer ) police spokeswoman Loretta Cool says it appears the car drove down a boat ramp at the marina Tuesday night and ended up in about 10 feet of water.

While police and dive teams weren’t initially sure if anyone was in the car, they found what Cool described as an “elderly man.” She says divers brought him to shore and he was taken to a hospital.

Police don’t know why he drove down the ramp.
