ATLANTA (AP) - A third child has died after a three-car crash in Atlanta police believe was caused by an illegal street race.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution (https://on-ajc.com/1yOAhPA0 ) reports 6-year-old Jaylen Coleman died Sunday a week after two speeding cars hit the car his mother and siblings were in traveling at more than 100 mph.

Three-year-old Lauren and 4-year-old Jordan Coleman died of their injuries April 13. The children’s mother, Cazhara Lovett, was also injured.

Police arrested James Benford and Melanie Putman for reckless driving and vehicular homicide. Police sketches of the accident show the cars were traveling nearly side-by-side when they collided with Lovett’s car as she made a turn.

Police told the newspaper the other two vehicles may have been involved in an illegal street race.
