ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - An Anchorage jury returned a guilty verdict in the double-murder trial of a 26-year-old man charged with killing two grandparents.

Anchorage television station KTUU (https://is.gd/e1QzPV) reports Jerry Active was convicted Friday on all 10 felony counts.

Active was charged with killing Touch Chea and Sorn Sreap May 25, 2013, in their apartment and the sexually assaulting a 2-year-old girl and a 90-year-old woman there.

Defense attorney Chong Yim maintained in closing arguments that investigators arrested the wrong person.

Yim said DNA testing of evidence was flawed and not all evidence was tested due to “time and money.”

Prosecutor Gustaf Olson said evidence indicated Active stomped the couple to death.

The couple’s grandson confronted an intruder in the home and identified him as Active, a registered sex offender.
