WASHINGTON (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 24½ years in prison for killing his girlfriend in their D.C. apartment.
Fifty-two-year-old Kevin McDarrin Johnson was sentenced Friday in Superior Court in Washington for strangling 48-year-old Detra Martin. He had pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
Prosecutors say on Feb. 20, 2014, Johnson strangled Martin in their bedroom.
